WHAT IS VISION THERAPY?
It is an individualized program of specific eye exercises used to help your eyes work together as a team. It is similar to physical or speech therapy but is for the eyes. There are times when glasses are not enough to provide the best vision to meet all the visual demands. This is very important for near activities such as reading and schoolwork.
Even though 20/20 vision has been used as a standard for most eye vision testing, it does not check for any of the eye functions needed for close work.
The areas vision therapy focuses on includes eye teaming, tracking and focusing. It incorporates visual perception and eye-hand coordination activities as well. The connection between the eyes and the brain is strengthened through vision therapy, providing permanent functional vision improvement.
